Confirmation Thanksgiving Food Drive! From all 2nd year confirmation students “Hello St. John members, if you are able, please donate food to those in need. There is an urgent need because of the government shutdown and we are collecting non-perishable foods for those most impacted by the shutdown. We will be donating food to First Presbyterian, Bridge Street Mission, and the Neighbors Place. Our Thanksgiving Food Drive will be running now through November 30th we thank you in advance for your donations!”
Calling all lovers of music! Join St. John Immanuel Handbell Choir (no experience necessary). Come give the handbells a try on Thursday nights, starting Thursday, November 6th at 5:30 p.m.
Sunday, November 23rd at 10:15 a.m. St. John Pie Auction! Join us for our annual pie auction. We are in need of pie bakers, pie buyers, and pie eaters! All donations raised this year will go to Share Your Holidays.
Join us Tuesday, November 25th at 6:30 p.m. for our Thanksgiving Worship & First Communion Service.
Christmas poinsettia’s
It is that time of year again to adorn our sanctuary with beautiful Poinsettia’s for Christmas. To order online, please click in the link below to take you to the online form. Also, new this year, is the ability to pay through Vanco. Special Occasions is the tile on our website. The form has the instructions and the link to take you to payment. If you wish to pay by cash or check (payable to St. John) please place in the church office’s mailbox located on my door or in the offering plate. Time & Talent Sheets – Now available for 2026! Thank you for the many ways you serve St. John! Your ministry as the body of Christ unites us together in many different and beautiful ways.
St. John is an Event Partner for 2025 Highland MobilePack! On Saturday, November 15th 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. Thank you to everyone who offered monetary donations and for the volunteers who signed up!
Monday, December 8th at 6:30 p.m. Blue Christmas. A prayerfully cultivated service for those who have lost loved ones, for those who find the holidays to be a lonely time, and for those who would like to spend more time in prayer.
Tuesday, December 9th at 5:00 p.m. St. John’s Sisterhood Ladies Christmas Gathering. Please consider joining the Sisterhood crew for our annual Christmas gathering at 2510 Restaurant. “Happy Hour” starts at 5:00 p.m. with dinner to follow at 5:45 p.m. As per tradition, we will be collecting non-perishable items for the Women’s Community (toiletries, toothpaste, shampoo/conditioner, etc.) and holding our annual white elephant gift exchange… so start looking in those storage rooms and basements (this exchange will be after dinner – don’t forget to wrap your ‘gift’!). A sign-up sheet and additional information are located in the Narthex.
Thursday, December 18th at 5:30 p.m. Candlelit Shepherds Meal. Doors open at 5:00, dinner starts at 5:30. Join us in a simple Shepherds Meal of soup, bread, dried fruit, nuts and cheeses by candlelight. You are invited to bring wine to share with your brothers and sisters in Christ. After our meal, we will move into the sanctuary where we will watch “Journey to Bethlehem,” a 2023 “live-action Christmas musical adventure… that weaves classic Christmas melodies with humor, faith and new pop songs in a retelling of the greatest story ever told.” $10/participant paid that evening – money remaining after cost will be donated to the Salvation Army. Sign-up in the narthex. This is intended for adults and older/mature children.
