Pastor Maggie’s Message, May 2024

God’s Beloved,

Blessings for the month of May, a month of many opportunities at St. John.

• Saturday, May 4th is Spring Cleaning, at 9:00 a.m. come when you can

• Sunday, May 5th our 8th grade confirmation students will have a chance to celebrate all their hard work with a bowling outing, followed by them serving the community dinner at First Presbyterian Church.

• Monday, May 6th the Book Club will meet to discuss The Covenant of Water by Abraham Verghese.

• Sunday, May 12th we will celebrate Mother’s Day and all of our graduating seniors with a Blessing of the Blankets.

• Tuesday, May 14th the Adult Study will meet starting a new summer series on A is for Alabaster: 52 Reflections on the Stories of Scripture by Anna Carter Florence. We will discuss pages 7—25 at this session.

• Sunday, May 19 we will officially welcome our new members, and celebrate the last day of Sunday School with BINGO and an Ice Cream Social.

I would like to thank everyone who has helped and continues to help with St. John’s many ministries. It is beautiful to have these opportunities and to come together as a community. I appreciate all of your support to St. John and towards one another by offering your time, talents, and resources.

God is alive and is journeying with us in all that we do. It is such a blessing to be on this journey with all of you, finding fullness of life in Christ.

So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as God, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.”

Colossians 2:6-7

With Love & Gratitude,
